Eyes That Know

May 1, 2009

My baby eyes were happy.  I didn’t know any better.  The eyes I have today are educated.  Sometimes, I wish I could go back to not knowing what I know.  But, I guess my final outcome depends on what I do with the information.  The only thing that can bring an optimistic smile is hope.  Without it, I won’t be able to write another sentence.  My baby eyes were happy.  My goal is to be happy today.  Sure, it was easy when I was too ignorant to understand.  But, I want to be happy in my knowledge.  I want to escape nothing.  I want to sit alone in a silent room and feel the peace.

You did a beautiful job at the memorial. In some ironic wierd way, Michael Jackson just presented you to the world as a gifted, unique, and special artist. For that, we are thankful, even in these sad times.

My mother and I were wondering who the pretty lady singing the lead in the tribute today was. I was really surprised to not find you listed in the credits, but after a bit of sleuthing, I found this website. You were really good. Your background was interesting; we thought you were mixed, but it's a refreshing surprise to find that you're a Christian too. Keep up the good work and God bless you! I hope this sends your career off to much greater publicity and sales.

It was impossible not to notice, and be impressed by you at Michael's memorial service. You have an amazing voice, and an incredible aura. I also couldn't help but notice Lionel Richie sort of rolling his eyes, and shaking his head during your last performance. But, you were so gifted. Blessings to you. Tony

I pray he saw the God in yo. You are to be commented for your grace and showmanship. May God forever Bless you. I agree with your Dad you were destined to be born.
Kim   |  July 8, 2009  3:28:49 PM
I am so happy that you were at the memorial for Michael Jackson. Your father told you correctly when he said that God needed you to be born. Your vocals struck a cord, it tasted like raw humanity when you sang and I believe that you contributed to one of the best symphonies to escort Michael home. I am looking forward to your music, the wisdom of your eyes pulses in your lyrics, and injects the aura of the women that contributed to you discovering your gift. Just beautiful

I agree with these people. I first saw you in MJ's memorial and wondered who you were. I just love your voice. That was a very sad moment and I think that from there at least you can count with something good out of there and that is that you have come to the eyes to the entire world to see how amazing is your voice. Michael Jackson was a very, very talented and gentle person and that is why the world was watching. Keep up the good work. I am waiting for your first album to come out. I am going to be there to buy it the very first day out!!! Good luck!

Life is weird and struggling sometimes, even for Christians. But I don't want to limit the ways of God to the ones he can explain to me. I like people, who despite of this go on with peace in their heart, love for other people, passion for what they do and a humble but self-confident and humorous nature. After all I read about you, you could well be such a valuable person. I think that's also a reason (beside your great talent) the people search all the way to this website to get to know you, it can even be felt through TV. Keep on like this. Best wishes and gods blessings.

hi Judith, I emailed you and see everyone is blogging.. You are nothing short of amazing. Lionel Ritchie, whatever he was doing with his eyes, at first I thought wierd, then perhaps he is sad, but when others noticed the oddness, to bad.. his era is past. Bring it on. You have poise, grace, soul and you can rock and of course stunning to sing to millions of folks like it is something you do all the time...! As with others, it took a while to find you... I am sure you phone is ringing off the hook... Go for IT and I am sure you will. and the guiatar player as well, plays with Santana... amazing.. Michael found the BEST of him in his Team.. cheryl nyc

Adi Rosdee   |  July 8, 2009  10:25:29 PM
hello...i kinda dozzed off during the show (being on the other side of this planet)but i faintly heard Heal The World..it sounded so good i woke up ..gosh there is so much great soul in your singing and u sound like MJ himself at times..i made out that u are his back-up and looked you up online..found u here! bless MJ, bless love, bless music, bless u! that was the best and most honest performance of the memorial!!
Richard   |  July 8, 2009  10:25:36 PM
I'll bet my car that Lionel's eye roll had absolutely nothing to do with your singing. In fact it looked to me that he wasn't doing anything but looking up. This was a random juxtaposition of camera angles that someone is interpreting as a "comment". Ridiculous. Your singing was spot on! I'm sure Michael was beaming. You are awesome.
b yoshinaga   |  July 8, 2009  10:26:47 PM
Ms Hill, i was pleasantly surprized to find out that A LOT OF PEOPLE were thinking what i was thinking when i watched you yesterday. you sing well & you're so pretty! i pray that you will keep your heart & soul focused to the Lord as you find success.

Everyone else is trying to figure who you are. I knew instantly by your voice you were a backup singer that was part of MJ's entourage. Your voice is similar or U have the ability to sound sorta like him. You stand out. And I knew you were bi-racial. I have oriental/black friends and girl let me tell you Asian and Blacks make some BEAUTIFUL and truly gifted offspring. What an experience to be given the op to work with MJ. You and Michael are "soulmates" in terms of music, and creativity. You are a vessel of the Lord, my child, sail high and strong. God Bless
Amy   |  July 9, 2009  5:44:20 PM

Adel   |  July 9, 2009  6:36:46 PM
Judith you represented MJ well with that song. Your spirit and voice was a real blessing. I am sure MJ looked down with pride and satisfaction. Maybe that was why some participants on the stage were looking up. You took charge in a caring way which was the way the song should be represented. God Bless you. Adel

Hi Judith it was refreshing to hear you sing at Michael Jackson's memorial, it was honest and unforced. You are about to make a bigger mark on the music industry in America not just because of Michael but because your honesty and passion comes through your singing. Again thank you, I grew up listening to Michael's music and I want to thank you for honest singing. G-d bless you.
Robin Strong   |  July 9, 2009  9:35:41 PM
Wow! You sang "Heal the World" beautifully! I did not know your name until I watched ET tonight. You are amazing. Perhaps you should record more of MJ's songs, at least something good could come from his death. I will be looking to hear more from you.

Judith! Judith! Judith! "My God, Sweet Girl!" --- what talent & gift!" "Sweet Jesus!", as many have stated and expressed, your profoundly soulful, heartfelt, mesmerizing rendering of "Heal The World" at the conclusion was truly nothing short of "sheerly magical!" I like a new fellow fan above, discovered who you were thru ET this evening, and it was definitely answered prayer! With everyone joining you on stage, smiling & singing so joyously --- well, it was like this "most magical healing balm!" There's no doubt in my mind, whatsoever, that MJ noticed & recognized your "kindred magical quality & spirit" (i.e., the easy & natural, spontaneous way you egoless reached the microphone down to the cute lil' girl beside you, making her feel so special as she excitedly exulted her voice!) desiring you to be the exclamation point of "This Is It!" And as I experienced such a varied array and range of feelings & emotions during the memorial tribute/celebration --- I (and I'm sure countless millions worldwide) was virtually all smiles & aglow as it concluded, thanks to you! Yes, you were/are, indeed, like a last most beautiful and loving gift MJ gave us! May the "God-given magic continue to wondrously unfold..." blessing us, yes Judith, helping to heal our world! Namaste, Jarrel

Hei, Judith! Like all the others, I was struck by your looks, stature, and your voice! You're one of the few Asians I've seen that has a certain all- encompassing beauty, both inner and outer. All I could think of was "who is this woman, beautiful, soulful, and self-possessed? What you are shone through that day, even among the stars. The hour of your discovery is predestined. You are destined to shine. Now go, make Michael proud! We love and miss him. He is in the annals of history, you are about to make one! Love you, another Asian girl.

You sang with your heart, you sang with your soul. You sang with conviction and belief. That why the world stopped & listened... and understood the message MJ has written into the song. Thanks for a touching delivery. You have done MJ proud. He will be pleased that his message of hope & healing will continue live on. All the hurt, pains & trauma that you have gone through & overcome over the years have played a part in your deliverance of music. Be strong in the face of adversity you had face, and will face. The Lord will be will you always. God bless!

Well done Judith!!! To those who commented on Lionel Ritchie's attitute during Judith's singing. I think Lionel was just thinking about MJ. It was such a very sad time.
cher   |  July 12, 2009  9:52:28 AM
Judith can be seen on Entertainment tonight. I hope the producers of THIS IS IT, decide to go forward with the show.. as these five talented people and dancers MJ hired for THIS IS IT, could hold a show on their own... add Santana, some of the Jackson family, it will sell. JH I listen to both your lead songs every day... so healing.. thank you for sharing your heart.. cher manhattan

I've seen you sing at Shepherds a couple of times and thought that you were an amazing singer. My first thought was that you needed to be on American Idol but look at you now!!! You have arrived. Keep up the good work.
Georg Sitzmann   |  July 13, 2009  2:07:17 PM
It took some searching to discover who you are. But the fact that so, so many of us have been expending the effort to find out about you speaks volumes about your amazing talent! There seems to be a deep sadness within you(???)...you poor thing. Maybe it comes with talented people. I wasnt exactly a MJ fan, but I always was a fan of his undeniable genius; and the fact that he invited you to be part of his circle says alot about your talent! And the global search to identify you only reaffirms that. And you are tall & thin & beautiful so don't ever think otherwise. God Bless!!!
Cindy   |  July 13, 2009  5:38:07 PM
Your voice is awesome Judith! I'm glad the whole world discovered you through the MJ memorial. I wish you a successful career and more. You're so musically blessed! Please come to Hawaii and do a concert! I'm be there for sure!

Stay Strong and True to the music and your Dreams. We also enjoyed your TV Spots, Ch.2 for Entertainment Tonight. Andres

Judi, I'm hooked to your voice singing "Heal." Can't help logging on to hear your voice. You sing it the best I've heard, so far. Good luck. I believe you have a terrific future. Your fan.
somebody   |  July 17, 2009  1:23:28 AM
Are you crazy??? Lionel wasn't shaking his head at Judith Hill. He was shaking his head in disbelief that he was standing there at his dear friend Michael Jackson's funeral. It's all so unreal, or surreal, whichever. Just horrible. As for Judith: You are a totally superb singer and you are beautiful, and runway model tall. All the best for your future!
Dawn   |  July 17, 2009  11:49:16 PM
loved your performance at mj's memorial! it was so neat to see someone who looks like my daughter--hair and all! glad the world got to hear your voice!
Kendra   |  July 23, 2009  4:04:12 AM
This entry reminds me of 1 Corinthians 11-13... " 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put aside childish things. 12 For now we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, as I am fully known. 13 Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." May your gift from God be used in the most greatest way for His glory and honor... like so many have said, your voice really is beautiful and I'm going to pray for you tonight... I could understand that going into such a public business and industry as yours comes with many temptations and traps but I pray for wisdom and discernment for you in the decisions you make... especially now, knowing how huge of an impact they can make (no pressure!) hehe :] It really is wonderful to discover you went to Biola (I'm planning to transfer there in about a year! :) ) and that you were surrounded and grew up in a Christian family... to have support like that is very comforting. :) My parents aren't and I pray for them... I pray for boldness for myself that I may be able to witness to them more and give them the Word... I'm VERY thankful for family that is and friends I have that I'm able to talk to and fellowship with... sure makes our time here on earth more fun, less stressful, and a wonderful means of reassurance too. :) If you ever need anyone to talk to, I'm here! :) ...I saw the article on yahoo about you like the day of (or after?) MJ's memorial and tonight I'm brought here again by Biola's site... I'm in my church choir and love to sing too and understand the whole bi-racial thing... I'm not trying to pour out my life-story lol and I haven't checked out your music yet but I just felt a connection and felt compelled to respond to this... I truly do hope the Lord is glorified in your work... it'll be nice to see more of that passion and vigor for Him in our media and society... to see people being bold and not ashamed to stand up for Him. :) May you have a great week and God bless!!!

Incredible. You understand what you sing...even if you didn't write it! Its so relieving when singers interpret the music and add to it. Your voice is another instrument in the band...it was meant for you, you were meant for this! Give God all the praise...don't ever forget your purpose! MS. JUDITH HILL....AMAZINGLY GIFTED, DIVINELY PURPOSED!!!

Dear Sister, My wife and just met you today in October Biola Editon. We attend Biola in 79 and 60. In fact I was a member of the cleaning crew geting the campus ready for the big 1960 coming home party that, is still on going. PRAISE GOD! The Lord hath need of you, if you are ready to allow him to in-pack this world through you. We have a project including the art work and song that, need a music score written here for the THEFIRSTJEWMINISTRY.COM that, will be greater than "We are the World". Take time to read Geneses 15:18, Ps 68:31 and Is 19:23-24-25, and if the Holy Spirt direct you, then call. In your words, "There have been doors opened, but I'm still waiting for the right door." Sometimes I wish that I could be a baby again. Oblivious to all the pain. My eyes back then were sunshine.

It's been months but I still remember the shock of hearing your voice at the memorial. I was like, where is he? Is that a recording and then realizing it was you, this beautiful singer. Sing on Judith. You've got the gift.

I thought I sent a comment previously; however, I do not see it posted. In the event you did not receive it, you do have an amazing voice and the looks to go with it. I hope that you are very successful in all you do. It must have been a great thrill to be performing with MJ in "This is It" . The title of the concert is kind of erie in a way. I did see the movie of the rehearsals (in fact, I saw it twice-I loved it so much) You were great! I know there were many more hours of rehearsals that they were unable to include in the movie; I hope some day most of them will be out on video.I think that the benefit concert you will be performing in Haiti is wonderful. If Michael is looking down, I am sure he would be very happy. Someone has to carry on with the charitable work he was so known for. I am so looking forward to hearing your single "I Will Always Be Missing You"

What a fascinating blog entry. I've read it over and over. You've obviously been rationed an uncommon portion of courage. What a brave and graceful acceptance of knowledge. I wish for you the fulfillment of the wants you listed in your closing sentences. Surely the gifts facilitated through you are deserving of such a return. Thank you for sharing and being willing to walk through whatever it took in order for you to be the Shining witness that you are-

Hello Miss Judith Hill, I heard a song at my church that brought me to tears so I researched who sang it. It is on a yahoo answers that you sing a version of it. I dont know the name of the song however I know its based on Psalms 27 and the chorus includes, "I will remain confident in this I will see the goodness of the Lord" Can you help me?! I gotta have it! Brought me to my knees!
