Moments

May 2, 2009

One of the best feelings in the world is when my band locks in.  What I mean by that is when every player logs into the machine and the synchronization is unstoppable.  No one is left out.  No one can escape it. You don’t have to think about anything.  It’s kind of like an out of body experience.  I step out of myself and hear the music from a distance even though I’m on stage singing and playing.  When that happens, there’s no doubts or concerns about whether or not the performance was good.  I live for those moments.  But, often times I have to get through the dreadful moments when everybody is clunking along, hammering out the chord changes.  Yuck!!  Eventually, when parts are delegated and they are so hot, the sound thins out and the groove is refined like silver.  Aww!  A breath of fresh air.  There’s no turning back; we’re into warped speed; full throttle into the land of ecstasy.

However, you were very strong and conscious of the special moment. Success in your career with the blessing from Michael now in heaven!

It is an awesome experience to lose ones self in music and become part of it. Things seem to flow well like a river's current. Keep doing your thing however BIG or small and keep the LOVE for what you do alive. This is the most important thing of it all. Let God guide you for all good things come from Him, even good music. Be In Peace.

I just found out Judith was the lead on Michael Jackson's "Heal the World" at his memorial service. She is a very beautiful lady (too bad I am married); Anyway, I think I would be out her league. I pray she retains her Christian beliefs in this crazy world we live in, if she gives hope in her music, maybe we will see more delightful Christian music from her. Asian and Black did not do her bad...She was great on "Heal the World"; Everything about Michael's memorial service was excellent, if we are going to see a "healing" and "change" it does start with the "Man (and, in this case, a beautiful woman;) in the Mirror"...; God Bless you, Judith in; what seems to be an off to an illustrious, career...Gee! I feel like a giddy young unmarried man, and not so Christian; if you know what I mean. If I need to sign this, Just sign me… Confused Married & Older Youth, Happy with Ms. Hill and Jackson’s Memorial Tribute, will be fine.

Bryan   |  July 8, 2009  9:53:39 PM
I was watching the memorial thing just because it was on every station, and I heard you sing "Heal the World". Like everybody else I said, "Who is that?" I asked my stepdaughter later, and she didn't know, so I went on line, and ... nada. Now today you're all over the Web, and rightly so. I'm so tired of the high-octane warblers; it was wonderful to hear restrained, intelligent artistry again. I figured you for Broadway, but it turns out you're an unknown. Not for long. Best singer I've heard since whoever. Beautiful to see, too. Kudos.

It's 2 days since I logged my first blog and I couldn't resist checking again to see what response You have since had from around the world. I guess there is no surprise that the whole "world" now knows Judith Hill and I hope You are smiling at all the wonderful words and tributes about You personally and your magical performance. I loved the natural warmth and serinty in the way You effortlessly embraced all around You and having re-watched most of it again I have noticed You involved in so many other parts of the memorial. Everything about You I have read and seen is truly delightful.

You're amazing, Judith, wow! When I saw and heard you sing during the MJ memorial, I thought you're already an established singer that I didn't know (because I'm busy with work and I'm not so in.) And your beauty is wow! Anyone from the music industry who has offered to sign you up is making the smartest move. I hope one time you share with us how you came to work with MJ and how you were chosen to sing the signature songs. It would be delightful to hear it. Go, Judith, sing and heal the world ....

Judith, I was deeply moved by your strength and your voice at Michael Jackson's memorial. I don't know how you did it. I sat there and cried for two hours. You were perfect in bringing the service to conclusion. Thank you and best of wishes.
Lisa   |  July 9, 2009  7:24:30 PM
Judith, I said to my Mother "This girl is going to go far, she is amazing". You performed with such confidence, it was like you've done this many times before. Michael knew what he was doing having you tour with him. He would have been so proud of you. I hope to hear more of you. I agree with Bill: While one star fades another rises. Shine bright Girl! Best wishes always.

Paulo   |  July 17, 2009  8:42:27 AM
Hi, Judith, you have a beautiful smile, you should use this smile more. Your photos are in the blog and would be very sad, but in fact you have a great inner beauty and something special, and when you see a smile light something lindo.Teu east side sends a peace. and the addition is completed.
Paulo   |  July 17, 2009  8:46:39 AM
Judith, you have as I move the blog that brunette who danced when Jennifer Hudson sang, it seemed your friend, then was next to you when you sang Heal The World, it was who brought the children by hand. If you can answer me thank you.
Jay   |  July 17, 2009  5:36:02 PM
The brunette dancer who brought the children by the hand gave Judith good luck hug and stood behind Judith was Mekia Cox. You can see her and other dancers audition video on lovesoul.tv. It must be really heartbreaking for Mekia and other performers not only to see the passing of great artist, but passing of their hero whom they worked their heart and soul for for the past few weeks rehearsing. I hope they get to do the tribute concert in London and get their breaks as well. One thing I noticed about body language of Mekia when Judith was singing in front of her. She gave a little tell like she knew what was going to happen after Judith finish singing. That the rest of the world would see what only a relative few of them had known before that point..."a genuinely extraordinary talent that was almost impossible to deny". At time, Mekia was grining ear to ear and at other time she was totally mesmerized by Judith. Judith is that good. She commends respect from other artists who were lucky enough to hear her silky, smokey, earthy, compassionate voice.
Paulo   |  July 17, 2009  7:18:31 PM
Jay thank you for the information, everything was really beautiful, despite the that this great honor. I would very much like to hear Judith Mekia and on another occasion, it was not that. Where can I find the blog of Mekia thank you again.
Jim   |  July 23, 2009  9:48:00 PM

Hi Judith! I agree with all the wonderful comments people have posted about you here! You have such a beautifully expressive voice. I saw 'This Is It' the other day and thought it was great how you inspired MJ to take his voice to performance level. Despite his mild protests afterwards he was definitely having a good time. You clearly impressed him and everyone else! I'm looking forward to hearing more from you!

Dear Judith, You are a woman of great talent and even greater potential; I hope that you can grasp the importance of either writing or singing a great song written by someone else that moves you. A love song sung in duo with another soulful soul, as you did with Michael in This is It would be unbelievable. Please write me.
